Wardrobe for My Road Trip

I've got a girls-only trip planned next month to Brimfield to scout out some must-have antiques and maybe (hopefully!) even some bargains.  But what to wear?  I need something vintage-y . . . something that fits in but stands out.  Something that will help me keep my cool while I'm diggin' through barrels and bins and dusting off all those hidden gems.

Been visiting my peeps back home this week and thinking a lot about family, hope, and acceptance.  I came across this photo of my parents, Ralph and Rosie, and just had to share.  Two kids married less than a year.  So much ahead of them.  They are still together some fifty years later.  What was going through their minds back when this picture was taken?  Visiting home is very grounding for me; puts things in perspective.  How about you?  What's going through your mind right now? 

Back to the Beginning

Sometimes the Cosmos draws me back to the place where I first rested my eyes on the planet and it on me.  Not a bad view, at least from my perspective.  So here I am again, taking another peek . . . and it still looks good to me!  Speaking of time travel, dinner at Cold Spring Tavern is always one of my favorite things to do.  What are some of your favorite things?  Aahh . . . it's good to be home!

A Lesson in Gaztro-nomy

Nations unite!  Don't forget, today is Taste of the Nation Chicago at Navy Pier!  I was reminded of this yummy event when I purchased my pearl cous cous Naanwich at the Gaztro-Wagon.

All ticket sales from Taste of the Nation Chicago (yes ALL, that means 100%) go toward Share Our Strength, dedicated to making sure no kid grows up hungry.   Some of our city's hottest chefs and mixologists will be there donating their time.


The event kicks off in Navy Pier's historic Grand Ballroom from 7 PM to 10 PM.  If you are under 21, don't even bother!  And please look your most "upscale casual" best.

Take Your Clothes Off

I'm a huge fan of this Brooklyn designer.  I own this T-shirt dress in three different colors.   Dress it up or dress it down, out to dinner or at the beach, it's so effortlessly stylish!  I'm not interested any extra effort at this point, thank you very much.  Simplicity is key.  So try it, I know you'll like it.  Go ahead, Take Your Clothes Off.
